Services - Passengers
The tickets can be bought on the website, the tick booth or with the official partners. The tickets can´t be bought when entering the ship. Its required for boarding that all passengers present an identification document with a picture (i.e.: ID, passport) along with their ticket. The identification document must match the name on the ticket, otherwise boarding may be refused. All passengers have to check-in at least 1 hour prior to the departure of the ship, otherwise boarding may be refused.
If identification document doesn’t match the name on the ticket the passenger may be denied boarding and the ticket won’t be refunded. If the passenger doesn’t show up for check-in at the established hour, the ticket won´t be refunded, except in the following situations: death, illness or cases of force majeure that prevents the passenger from attending check-in. Regardless the situation, the passenger has to communicate it until the beginning of the trip. The conditions previously mentioned are applied both to passengers with or without vehicle. In a situation where the passenger wishes to cancel the trip and have its ticket fully refunded, the latter has to inform CV INTERILHAS with a 24h advanced, otherwise the refund request may not be accepted.
In case of a delay or cancellation, all passengers will be properly informed about the situation. In the occurrence of a delay lasting more than 3 hours, all passengers will be entitled to have a free meal. For reasons of force majeure, CV INTERILHAS is allowed to make changes, without previous notice, on both schedules and connections established on the tickets. In these situations, CV INTERILHAS accepts no liability for any connections to other services, but all passengers have the possibility of accepting or not the announced changes. If the passenger decides not to accept, it will be refunded on the amount payed for the ticket.
Special-need passengers, people with reduced mobility and any accompanying person must contact the carrier, at least, 24h prior to the date and time schedule for boarding so the latter is able to provide the all necessary cares (including guide dogs). When transporting a patient, all safety, privacy and commodity measures should be taken in order to guarantee the best possible service (i.e.: an area of easy access and the possibility of accommodating a gurney, if necessary).
Passengers are allowed to bring their pets, as long as all necessary measures are taken. All animals must be transported inside their compartments and these compartments must be brought by the animals’ owner since they won’t be provided by the carrier. CV INTERILHAS is not responsible for the animals’ care during travel (i.e.: feeding, hygiene among others) and is allowed to deny the animals’ boarding if necessary. Pets always travel as checked baggage. Depending on their compartment dimension, some pets can travel as hand luggage if authorization to do so is given by the carrier. Guide dogs, other assistance dogs, have free transportation and thy are not obligated to stay inside their compartment having the possibility to travel in the passenger areas. To have the CV INTERILHAS approval in such situations is necessary to present all the required documentation.
Each passenger can travel with 2 hand luggage items without any additional costs, as long as they are within the stipulated limits: • Each item dimensions cannot exceed 55x40x25cm (maximum volume of 55L) • Each item weight cannot exceed 8 kg. If an item doesn’t respect the stipulated limits it will be considered checked baggage and subject to an additional freight of 300$00 CVE. There’s also the possibility of the lugged being subject to extra fees that will also be charged to the passenger before boarding. Musical instruments of small dimensions, such as violins, guitars or electrical guitars can travel as hand lugged if the carrier consent is given. Baby carriages our other items necessary to accompany children with less than 2 years-old, can travel as hand-lugged (including the items that don’t respect the stipulated limits) or check lugged without bearing any additional. Any item that might be dangerous and compromise the safety of the passengers, crew, ship or cargo cannot travel as hand lugged (including dangerous cargo as stipulated in the IMDG code).

There’s also the possibility of the lugged being subject to extra fees that will be charged to the passenger before boarding.
