Services - Vehicles
Boarding The vehicles transportation can be made with or without the driver being present. There will be issued 1 ticket for the driver and 1 ticket for the vehicle itself. The vehicles without a driver will be charged an extra amount that is related with embarkation and disembarkation. The freight vehicles must present for boarding, at least, 2 hours before the time schedule for the ship departure. Any other vehicle must present for boarding, at least, 1 hour before the time schedule for the ship departure. If these requirements aren’t met, boarding may be denied. Landing Any vehicle without a passenger that isn’t immediately removed after the arrival of the ship can be removed by CVI employees, in order to avoid delays on the disembarkation and consequent departure of the ship. In these cases, the owner of the vehicle will have to pay surcharge of 50% on the freight. All additional costs resulting from the vehicle staying in port areas, are to be payed by the owner, directly to port operators. Vehicles with cargo Vehicles with cargo may be subject to inspection and acceptance of lashing conditions before boarding. If these conditions aren’t acceptable the carrier may demand the cargo owner to rearrange and re-lash the cargo or refuse boarding altogether. All vehicles are subject to weighing before boarding.
